I am a fully qualified (NCTJ) and highly professional journalist, who worked for 11 years in London before moving to York in March, 2008. I have a lot of experience and a variety of skills, first honed on a regional paper, then in London.
For three years with Channel 4, I wrote reports and features for their cricket website, and ghosted columns for the commentators. I then performed a similar role as editor of Channel 5’s cricket site for two years. I still report on cricket and rugby matches for The Times. But I also cover many other subjects other than sport.
Recently, I wrote and edited business supplements which appeared in The Times and The Daily Telegraph; I contribute news and monthly features about the international construction industry to a trade magazine.
I am extremely flexible and curious about most things. My approach is meticulous – for five years in London, I did regular sub-editing shifts on The Times business desk. As a true allrounder, I can also do page layouts in QuarkExpress and InDesign. I am educated to degree level, fluent in French, and a strong Italian speaker.
Whatever I do, I give 100 per cent and I can provide strong references.
