Event management. What's that?

Organising conferences? If you like. Or weddings,corporate events, team-building (or destroying) days, customer/staff incentive days...its definition is wide-ranging.

It's a one stop shop for managing and co-ordinating whatever the customer wants, from sourcing venues, caterers, florists, etc for more social events to setting challenges and structuring training for corporate away days. It's usually very helpful to have a background in corporate hospitality, marketing and PR and as a freelance, you need to have exceptionally good contacts.

In this field, you need to be a "people person" with strong organisational skills and the motivation to deliver extraordinary customer service.

It's more of a calling - your life must be devoted to fulfilling the customer's needs with tireless enthusiasm, motivation and limitless resources. Think of this category as event facilitation - and start networking.
