Freelancing survey

Freelance survey launched by PolicyBee and Freelance Advisor

In anticipation of National Freelancers Day on 23rd November 2011, a survey has been launched to explore the pros and cons of becoming a freelance worker. The ‘Freelance = Freedom’ research is being undertaken by specialist freelance insurance broker PolicyBee and Freelance Advisor, the UK’s most popular blog for freelancers, contractors and small businesses.

The survey will investigate whether freelancing does in fact give an individual more work-life balance or if the pressures of working alone weigh heavily on the freelance community. Findings will be published on both the PolicyBee website and Freelance Advisor blog in November 2011. The survey is open to all freelancers in the UK and entrants will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a new Kindle e-reader.

Valerie Hockley, Managing Partner at PolicyBee, commented: “It is important to recognise the freelance working community as an essential part of the UK’s continuing path to economic recovery. By launching this survey with Freelance Advisor, we hope to share a better understanding of the freelance landscape. The survey is one part of our commitment to working with freelancers, with regular Freelance Friday interviews uncovering some of the issues that individual freelance workers have had to overcome in the past.

“It is our hope that with the survey we will reinforce the opinion that freelance working can contribute to increased efficiency and productivity, which in turn enables the growth of small and medium sized businesses in the UK”.
