About Me
I am a freelance proofreader, and am a full member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). I have completed a series of SfEP training courses and have also studied with the Publishing Training Centre, achieving a pass with merit in their Basic Proofreading course.
I hold diplomas in Banking and Management Studies (both degree-equivalent) and am an Associate of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Chartered Institute of Management.
I set up Proofed Beyond Doubt after spending nearly 35 years in the financial services industry. My extensive experience in business and personal finance makes me an ideal proofreader for material covering these areas, although I have a generalist approach and will consider all non-scientific subjects.
Recent commissions
Recent proofreading projects include reports on the nuclear industry and the engineering sector, a major retail bank’s website, a children’s book for a self-published author, and a concert programme for a prestigious musical evening.
I also do regular work for various industrial, conservation and financial magazines, as well as work on theses and dissertations.
What I offer
I am client-focused and flexible, have excellent organisational skills, am used to tight deadlines and am often able to accept smaller jobs at short notice for quick turnaround.
I can proofread hard copy or on screen, and website validation is a speciality (content, links, interactive material and design checked thoroughly using a range of browsers).
