As a journalist, have contributed to newspapers, radio and television, mainly on cultural affairs and the entertainment and film worlds, including BBC Radio, Scottish Television, The Independent, The Herald, The Scotsman,the Irish Independent, the Irish Examiner, Daily Express, Daily Mail, aswell as many magazines including Voyager, Hello, Woman¹s Own and Caledonia
magazine.
Worked for ten years as arts editor and member of the founding team who established Scotland on Sunday newspaper.
Am a founder and director of the Italian Film Festival UK (Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow,
Manchester and London), the French Film Festival UK (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen Manchester and London), and have been associated with
Scottish film events in Paris and Italy.
A director of CinéFrance, a recently established company devoted to the distribution of French cinema in
the UK and Ireland.
Am an accredited member of the National Union of Journalists, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Critics¹ Circle. Also, a regular attender of film festivals around the globe, including Sundance, Berlin, Deauville, Karlovy Vary, Taormina and
Cannes, as well as the European Film Awards and have served on many juries and panels. Have interviewed many of the leading players in the film industry, from directors and actors, to producers and insiders.
In addition to media activities, ran as director, The Lumière, an innovative film theatre within the Royal Museum, part of the National Museums of Scotland.
Four years ago, was awarded the honour of Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government.
