    • I am a freelance editor and proofreader, with experience of a wide range of projects, from copy-editing non-fiction books for traditional publishers to helping fiction authors prepare their work for submission to agents or publishers.

    I am very flexible in my approach, and will work with you in the way that suits you best, intervening as much (or as little) as you like. While I will always correct spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, I adapt my editing to the task. I will try not to interfere with your individual style, but will help you express yourself fluently and interestingly. My aim is that your writing should be correct and appropriate to your task, but still speak with your unique voice.

    For fiction writers, I always bear in mind that you have worked long and hard before your work reaches me, and I always try to be as gentle as possible. Yes, I correct errors and follow a standard style, and I also check basic facts and continuity, but beyond that I take my lead from each person individually.

    So whether you just want a final eye cast over your completed work to check for typos, or help in licking your novel into shape before you send it out into the world, or any other assistance with your written communication - just let me know what I can do for you!
